Josh's Big Weekend!

Josh spent this past weekend at my house and we had a blast! From day one, he acted like part of the family. When playing in the yard, he stuck right by us, never wandering off, loving fetch and chasing us around. We thoroughly enjoyed watching him do backflips in the grass - he's a character!

He played great with my border collie and got along perfectly with every other dog we met, never aggressive or dominant. He had just the right amount of energy and knew when it was time to relax. He was also pretty quiet for a hound, we barely heard a peep out of him all weekend. While I studied, he laid by the door or on the dog bed, never once trying to jump on the furniture.

On Saturday, we ran just over 3 miles together and he led the way the whole time. He rode well in the car and walked/ran nicely on his leash. He got used to his crate right away and slept through the night with no accidents both nights. While at home, he'd relax in his crate when we weren't playing and come out occasionally to be petted!

He also was sweet with kids, and gave lots of kisses at the Petsmart adoption event on Sunday. Josh will be a great family pet. He would do very well in a house with another dog for him to play with. He's very playful but also knows when enough is enough. He knows how to sit, comes when called, and knows what crate means. We truly enjoyed our weekend with Josh, our dog will miss him very much!

I am so happy to read this blog about Josh. I think he is one of the sweetest residents ever at the Shelter.

Though he may not look the part, he is an agility expert. He jumps right up on the benches on the trail and is always ready for a chat.

His markings are unique and beautiful. What a wonderful find this little guy is.

Come to the Shelter and check him out.
